MEET HAILEY

Hailey Waitt is an author, philanthropist, and developer based in Southern California. Currently residing in San Diego, Hailey P. Waitt is from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. Perhaps it was the wide-open plains of her hometown that ignited her curiosity and love for new discoveries. Her undying curiosity in what makes people tick led Hailey to study both history and forensic psychology at University of Southern California. She graduated with honors in 2012.

Hailey published her first book, Band of Shadows, a Young Adult fantasy fiction novel, in 2019. When she’s not writing or reading literature, you can find Hailey creating her own stories (and of course, seeking the perfect cup of coffee) around the world. Whether she’s cliff jumping in New Zealand or diving in the Galapagos, Hailey has an aptitude for making memorable experiences in any setting.

Now, she brings rich insight from her travel repertoire to curating experiences for guests of luxury hospitality brand Orli. Co-founded by Hailey Waitt, Orli debuts this summer in La Jolla.

Active in her community, volunteering with organizations such as Becky’s House, Voices for Children, Promises 2 Kids, and Rebero Orphanage in Rwanda, Hailey also serves as a board member of the Waitt Foundation as well as The Positive Movement Foundation.
